To be fair, it was based on the 1950s movie "Anastasia" starring Ingrid Berman and Yul Brenner. It was just foolish adapting it after the real Anastasia's fate was discovered. It would be like making the film "Raise the Titanic" after the Titanic's wreck was discovered.

I also nominate "Once Upon A December."

I always thought Disney capitalizing on the murder of the Russian imperial family and their entourage disturbing. It never been made if they found Anastasia's remains before 1997.

That's right. Clips I've seen looked very Disney though.

Interesting that the Romanovs would have survived if another country took them in. No one would because of political BS so they were gunned down. For some reason their story haunts me...how the girls survived the first round of bullets because of gems in their clothes then were stabbed to death.

But anyway..

Right, its a don bluth movie. He's the guy who did Secret of Nimh and the first Land before time movie. He did work for Disney before leaving to do his own thing.
