considering going back to physical media with how much stuff's getting pulled or sabotaged lately

I think all major retailers Ive used have messed up once or twice. That said I havent had major issues getting refunds.

Yeah I'd preorder from a store and try to do on-site pickup no matter what. Last few times I've tried Amazon or Gamestop it's either delayed or damaged or not a U.S. version

Amazon is no longer reliable for day 1 shipping imo

I don't always preorder but some days I'll go pick up day 1 even without and they're like "oh here's the preorder stuff" and I'm like "cool thanks"

pre-orders have mostly been disheartening and stressful. My recent luck has been good with best buy in store pickup.

Amazon doesn't do day 1, so I usually preorder there for their bonus and then get from Best buy or GameStop day one then return my Amazon copy when it's late.
