I've been a nurse over 10 years and it's a pretty cush gig. Done a nice mix of hospital floor nursing, cardiac critical care, and now i work in a procedural area. I have to take call now but I work a way easier job and make a nice 6 figures so I'm quite happy with my job at the moment. I'm also on the west coast though so my wages are pretty high, i hear it's an absolute dogshit job in the south/midwest and you make peanuts so if you live in those places it's probably a bad idea.

Underpaid, over worked, over stressed and constantly dealing with utterly terrible people who tell you that you need to be trialled and executed for giving out vaccines.

Plus, a government who is determined to destroy the very fabric of healthcare, but claims to care while taking a shit in the mouths of healthcare workers.

I spent way too long working at a grocery store, I made the mistake of moving from that to another high stress customer-y job my patience is all but gone tbh. Theres no way I could handle being a nurse and putting up with people. One of the only things helping me keep it together is having a good, consistent schedule nursing would take that away too. No thanks.

I hate dealing with people.
Taking care of people in need is exponentially worse.
I'd rather do heavy manual labor if nursing was the only other choice.

RNs and travel RNs were making more than some hospitalists in my hospital, and they were extremely incentivized with extra shift pay: I.E if you worked 8 hours extra you got an extra $600 in addition to time and a half.

Vomit might make me want to vomit and you definitely don't need a RN trying to keep their composure while giving a patient the proper care.

I already assume that all nurses are tested for strong stomachs before being accepted for the job. If a nurse sat next to me on a roller coaster after a big breakfast, wouldn't be worried in the least.

No thanks, I'd rather work with computer systems.
