Cassidy Hutchinson, the former Trump aide turned crucial January 6 witness, says in a new book she was groped by Rudy Giuliani, who was like a wolf closing in on its prey, on the day of the attack on the Capitol.

I don't like Rudy Giuliani as much as the next guy, but is there a reason why she with-held this information? Especially when she was a star witness in the January 6th committee hearings? The same hearing that aired on national TV during primetime?

The fact that she wrote (or someone co-wrote) this excerpt of her book with all the dramatic prose of an erotic thriller sends...uh, mixed messages.

What is it with people now and days, just writing what they confess they see,feel, or hear years after the fact instead in a court of law? Are people really buying these books, enough for them to be published?

Not sure how saying "Rudy Giuliani sexually assaulted me on 1/6" during the hearings would have changed anything. Would they have opened an investigation or would it just have gone by the wayside?

As with pretty much any "tell all" books, she's probably doing it to get money. I can't necessarily blame her for trying to cash in on her position (I think we'd all love some extra money), but I really don't think this is an attempt to do anything nefarious.

I mean, does this particular bit of information really matter in the context of the January 6th hearings? Yeah, it's disgusting and Giuliani sucks, but this event doesn't seem like it would have added anything to the discourse about the actual events of January 6th. However, this does seem in line with the many other things we've heard about Rudy Giuliani and the general atmosphere of a lot of Trump's circle, so it doesn't exactly surprise me.

Now, if her book reveals new information about the insurrection then it might be worth asking why that information was previously withheld, but this specific revelation isn't exactly a bombshell that will impact any of the Trump team's current legal troubles.
