Rules:
  1. Rate each character on a scale from 1 to 10 with 1 being the lowest, and 10 being the highest. Anything above 10 gets rounded down to a 10, and anything below a 1 gets rounded up to a 1.
  2. Anything beyond the ten's place will be rounded accordingly: .04 or lower gets rounded down to .0 and .05 or higher gets rounded up to .1
  3. You don't have to rate every character. You can skip any that you don't know or don't feel like rating.
  4. "Character" is defined loosely, but priority will be given to playable characters and major villains. Depending on participation/demand, this may be expanded.
  5. If you miss a topic or topic(s) you can still rate characters from previous topics. Just please try to keep them in the order I have them in the spreadsheet. It makes my life a lot easier.
  6. Feel free to nominate characters you'd like to see done next. There's no guarantee they'll be next, but they might receive higher priority.
  7. Please make it clear which characters you are giving each rating.

Cloud is, without a doubt, one of my favorite Final Fantasy characters. I remember when I first played Final Fantasy VII, thinking "Damn, this guy is cool." Maybe it was the big ass sword, or the fact that he rode a motorcycle, or the fact that he had impossible hair. Oddly enough I never got into Anime growing up. But even I had to admit the hair looked pretty damn cool. And in spite of him being the typical idea of what a thirteen year old might think is cool, he also has flaws that make him a deep character. Almost named my son after after him.

Locke Cole - 8.6/10
I like the thi---err sorry, Treasure Hunter. He's not my favorite FFVI character, but he was always a major part of my party. I don't know how many times I've played FFVI, but I'd wager that I've never avoided doing the phoenix cave sidequest. The opera scenes are some of my favorites in Final Fantasy. And let's be real, he's got a pretty kickass theme.

Lightning Farron - 7.5/10
Final Fantasy XIII is a game I beat once, and never touched again. Lightning's okay, though. I don't have a whole lot to say about her. Never played the third game, and only briefly played the second. So this seems about right to me. Don't hate her, but don't love her either. I can take her or leave her.

Cloud's good enough to set the pace as a lead but the whole Nibelheim stuff always seems to lose me in regards to him and his persona. Newer adaptations seem to make him a bit brooding and them playing around a lot to that hurts him a little for me but remake gave him back his snark that he had in the original. Solid protagonist.

Locke is excellent, well done in his role. Probably the best character in the game, funny and clever. The sections where he is required are easily the best part of VI too.

Lightning's a serviceable protagonist, in a lot of ways she is how a FF female lead should be written and she's not that different than Cloud or whoever. My only real gripe with her is how overexposed she was but I suppose that's not entirely her fault.

I don't hate Locke, but I'm very meh on him overall. Lightning, meanwhile, is not only the best FF character, but one of the best characters in all of video gaming! Cloud I'll rate after beating VII since late ratings are allowed

I feel like my rating for Cloud would dip if I took the rot his character has gone through over the year via spinoff and crossover bullshit in account, but Remake has been excellent at keeping him true to form.
