Same thing happened with octopath traveler 1, I finished the stories of my 4 main party members and Im looking at the other 4 not exactly enthused about doing all of their stories.

The 4 I didnt do are

merchant (pretty interested)
beast tamer (meh)
warrior guy (meh)
dancer (not remotely interested)

I know there is a final boss at the end but Im not sure its worth another 30 hours of stories Im meh about

I haven't played the game, but as a general rule of thumb, if I'm feeling pretty meh about a game (especially a 10+ hour game), I would generally drop that in favor of other gaming experiences that I don't believe will be meh.

but i loved the end of ochette's story, she is the greatest anime hero

I had a similar experience. I think I completed 5 but just felt meh about the idea of continuing at all. Some of the characters I had felt pretty.... blah.

I like all four of those a lot, personally. But hey, you do you.

If you aren't really feeling it, I think you're done. There's too much to go before the ending and no real guarantee you'll like the ending enough for this to be worth it.

You can always just let the game rest and pick it up again later. I guess you're at the point where it may burn you out, so just stop for now and maybe finish it when you're in the mood again.

This game is pretty easy to come back to with the separate stories and not overly complicated gameplay mechanics.

But it's also worth asking what level you're at with the four characters. ARe you close to finishing their stories? Have you not recruited them yet?

As someone who completed all the paths in 1, I found I just suddenly stopped playing 2 at some point in the chapter 4 phase.

3 of the ones you listed are ones I never got to. Ochette exists but nothing is really happening. Hikari is ok but I'm pretty sure it will end as cliche as it feels. Agnea feels like a barely focused side quest.

Agnea is worth it for the final fight alone.
Ochette is charming enough.

Finished chapter 1 with all of them

I actually did 7 chapter 1s first to decide who I was interested in.

Agnea was so boring from the intro I didnt even do hers. And after doing hers I dont regret that choice

Oh and I got a boat of course,

because sailing around the ocean at level 20 was awesome

I didn't like Agnea at first but after the true ending she ended up being perhaps my favorite of the bunch.

Edit: Also I think the endgame of OT2 is the best gaming experience I had this year. Maybe the final boss sequence of ToTK edges it out barely.

I like Agnea's story a lot. It's awesome how low stakes it is compared to the others.

That honestly is one of my biggest issues with the game ( which is a minor issue. I really like the game)

I started with Osvald and it honestly makes no sense that half these people joined him. It feels like starting with Agnea would make more thematic sense in picking up people with bigger stories rather than the other way around
