I feel that live service model is finally starting to collapse. Games are getting canceled left and right. Some games had to shut down servers. Sony saying they want to release 10+ Live Service games in less than 3 years sounds bat shit insane. I dont really see a world how that works out for them unless 1 game is so insane that it just blows up like crazy. I doubt that though because most people that play live service games arent going to switch games that easily. Its hard to move people from one live service to another

Why yes, games as a service is in fact a mistake. It's the bastardized model of an MMORPG, a genre that has repeatedly straight up died, and made worse and more predatory in every way, while the entire game industry cannibalizes itself by raising costs to the umpteenth degree for a lot of shit gamers very clearly don't give a good god damn about. ...
