The Games of the Month of the Year experiment sadly didn't work out unless there's going to be a rush toward the end. I was considering doing one next year as an annual thing, but I'm scrapping that.

I am intending on bringing back the birthday two-game voting poll, and maybe even in the exact same format. My birthday is in January, so I will be deciding if I would to do that in the next few weeks.

That particular game has probably been done already, but in general I like the idea since it allows for longer games to not have such a strict timer.

That's exactly it. I'd played through the trilogy just a few years before and I had no desire to do so again.

I was just thinking about this the other day and I was trying to figure out what other trilogies or series would work given a longer time frame. I thought about The Witcher games...but I've heard the first is not great and they're doing that remake, so maybe better to wait. Personally, I was thinking the Souls games since I have continually put them off.

But maybe the idea just doesn't work because people forget as they aren't in the topic title.

I do think sometimes having more time if a longer game is chosen would help, as it's hard to fit all the games in, especially when holidays eat your available game time. It's why I tend to nominate smaller games, as a 30+ hour game might be all the time someone has for a month.

I did like the idea of GotMotY and was interested in the Mass Effect series. Unfortunately though when I did start playing it, I had a hard time getting into it and found that I wasn't enjoying it like I thought I would.

Person, I wouldn't think the games would need to be in the same series, just longer.

If a full year felt like a long time to have them up there for less payoff, perhaps long term games could stay up for like four months instead of a full year?
Either way, your call if you want to continue the idea: but I will say that I also try to nominate shorter games so I can have time to complete them for the monthly games.

I put off starting Little Nightmares until now. Sometimes I'm a wuss, sometimes, I'm not. So far, I'm in the former camp despite nothing really bad happening yet.

I'm a bit of a 'fraidy cat when it comes to games too. Anything "frightening" about this game goes away real fast when you have to do the same thing 3-4-5+ times because you keep dying.

When I played it last month I could only really play 30 minutes at a time even though it was never super scary. I did like it a lot though.

Really enjoyable experience!

I haven't had home internet the past two days and Steam wouldn't allow me to log in offline mode and Xbox said that I needed to be online to verify my license ownership or something along those lines, so I guess I will be continuing Little Nightmares in November.
