"Just thinking about bringing them up to modern standards and combining them into one, you can see that its a big, big project.

The studio intends to release both remakes simultaneously as one package, providing more value for buyers.

On the other hand, Remedy Entertainments approach will offer more content, but it may force the studio to spend longer on the projects development. Sam Lake also reiterated that the remakes would use the Northlight engine for cutting-edge visuals.

Current Progress stage as of now = PROOF OF CONCEPT so the games technically haven't started yet until AW2 is complete.

Can't remember the last time a developer went all out like this, if ever.

I'm looking forward to Alan Wake 2, both because it looks good and that after its release, we'll hopefully see more of the Max Payne 1&2 remake.

but I wonder if we'll also have to wait until the release of GTAVI, since iirc, they're working with R* on the remake.

Nah they're not conflicting with each other because Rockstar's only responsibility is contracting Remedy to make the games and get a cut of the publishing sales.

So it's like a 180 degree turn from Max Payne 3's production which was an internal Rockstar game that Remedy consulted on but had no involvement otherwise. No chances of GTA DE bullshit here

i'm literally replaying max payne 2 right now. why do they need to invest resources on remaking it? why not just give us another entry in the series, preferably one that retcons 3?

just kidding. i know why.
