Whoopi Goldberg is perplexed by actress Rachel Bilson's views on her romantic partners' sexual history.

After The O.C. star said she'd find a potential boyfriend's sexual inexperience "a little weird" on the latest episode of her Broad Ideas podcast, the Oscar-winning Ghost actress criticized her stance on Thursday's episode of The View.

"I'm sorry, I think it's very odd that you're concerned that he's had sexual partners any sexual partners. Why is it your business?" the 67-year-old cohost said during a Hot Topics segment on the issue. "Listen, men, traditionally, were taught to have many sexually partners. That's how it was. Men could go and do whatever they wanted to do, and women were not supposed to. Now that has been shifting, and young women have been bitching about, you know, 'Why are you telling me what I should be [doing?]' Now, it's happening, and you're mad. I don't understand."

Goldberg reiterated her confusion by posing another pointed question to Bilson: "If he's happy with you and you're having a good time, why are you bitching?"

Cohost Joy Behar chimed in with a hilariously explicit remark of her own. "If just one out of the four could locate my G-spot, I'm all in," the 80-year-old comedian quipped. "I don't need thousands of them. Get me one good one. Right, ladies?"

Bilson was reflecting on her dating history on Broad Ideas when one of her cohosts asked her how she felt about a romantic interest's past experiences.

"If it's really low, at this day and age, you'd be like, 'It's a little weird,'" Bilson said. "This is going to sound so judgmental, but if a dude's, like, in his 40s and he's, like, slept with, like, four women. But it all depends. Maybe he's been in, like, decade[-long] relationships."

Bilson later clarified that she didn't think it was "fair" for her to make that kind of call. "A person is a person," she said.

A representative for Bilson did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment on Goldberg's statement.

What the fuck kind of "clarification" is this? Lmfao

I hate this shit, when articles talk about how they "clarify" or "apologize" for something and either they took the most useless & ineffectual portion from the statement or that's the whole statement and they just shouldn't have even entertained it being legitimate because it's so useless & ineffectual.

A "person is a person" has no correlation to her statement judgmentally regarding men with low body counts as suspicious.

It is logical. She isn't judging people with low body counts because they were with one person for 10+ years. It is obvious why that is different.

Not saying it is right, but I can understand questioning why someone hasn't had much sex OR a long term relationship. There are plenty of valid reasons why, but it COULD be a red flag that they have social issues.

There's nothing wrong with what she said. It is unusual for someone to have very little dating or sexual experience by the time they're 40. She didn't generalize EVERYONE that applies to and never implied it's an absolute deal breaker.

I don't think it is though. Let's think about the various combinations of that for a minute.

High body count; low relationships
high body count; high relationships
low body count; low relationships
low body count; high relationships

In Bilson's views, a person with a low body count that hasn't been experienced with relationships, this person's view is ... Strange . Which could mean that the person just hasn't found the right person for them. Perhaps they don't dive into relationships very easily, or perhaps family issues have led them to not get into a sexual relationship. Bear in mind, it didn't say "they don't have a lot of sex" AND "they don't have a lot of relationships with people." Those are completely different things.

So what she's saying is that she'd find it less weird to see a dude with a high body count for sex and a ton of short relationships than a guy with both low body count and low relationships... When a guy with a high body count for sex and shorter relationships is probably the worst combination.

I wouldn't.

The reality is that you'd question if they don't have any friends. Sometimes people just don't want a girlfriend / boyfriend so they choose not to get them. Considering she's specifically talking about sexual things, this makes this idiotic at its finest hours and braindead at its worst.

Should men question why women haven't had sex either? This doesn't just sound judgmental, it is. It's not the first time I've heard this opinion, and I think it's strange. Men are expected to have sex with a ton of women presumably but women are simultaneously supposed to keep their legs shut for "the one?" What a paradox. One that she's perpetuating with thoughts like this.
