Iirc more and more colleges want to do away with sat requirements. Do you think one test , tests better than the other?

Act is just straight up better. A lot of skills from Sat are kinda worthless and don't translate well to people that aren't native English speakers.

And I took it during the years that they had the essay, which was even worse because that's largely opinionated for why you think and essay is good or bad . Especially when a person's general interest in the subject asked of them could determine how well they write the subject.

There's just a lot more flaws with the sat over the act.

Never took the SAT, but I got a 23 out of 36 on the ACT, which I was told was pretty good.

I remember being in line for a scholarship through the factory my parents worked at but the application required an SAT score. Problem was Illinois was predominantly an ACT state. You could find an ACT given somewhat almost any weekend during the school year. The closest SAT was like 4 hours away.

I've only ever taken the SAT, so I don't even know what the ACT is like.

I don't consider any of those tests valid beyond being an institutionalized attempt at gatekeeping education.

These tests are annoying because they matter for the 30 seconds someone spends looking at your application then never again.

Although I did have a job requiring a graduate degree ask for my SAT scores. ??? It's been 15 years I don't remember.

I took neither and snuck into a four year school through community College. I did have to take the GRE exam so I couldn't hide forever.
