Due to a lack of Y titles on the console, I jumped into the crowded "S" side of things. I think it's safe to say that Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter were the two big fighting games that everyone else chased, but something like Samurai Shodown did carve out their own niche and found an audience, whether it was on the Genesis or any number of other consoles. Personally I remember enjoying playing SF more than SS, but I liked the characters better in SS as they were more interesting and unique to me.
