I think if they can make the fights and dynamic action stuff pop better than the movie, they've got something. He directed it, but he is apparently also rather hands on with this, too. If anything, it kinda makes it worse, since it was the "best" thing he had experienced, at that point, and thus could clearly dictate where he went, as a person.
