Why do you feel the need to dismiss gun violence in Texas with examples of more gun violence in Illinois? I know you're trying to get at - you're going to say that Illinois has gun control, but have you ever looked at a map? Have you looked at where Chicago is located? Have you checked gun laws in Indiana or Wisconsin, or is basic geography and a peripheral understanding of Midwest politics not a consideration when you decide to scramble to pickup a link and throw it out like a mass shooting didn't just happen in a gun-friendly state?

I acknowledge the potential issues with gun control and its efficacy but you seem wholly partisan and brainwashed to the point where you instantly and immediately tote the party line on and become mocking over a concept involving real human casualties. I'm from DFW and this shit happens all the time, so again, what does Chicago have to do with us or how we should handle guns?

On topic, American gun policy is the problem. All races are capable of abusing the current lax policies. There was even an Asian-American senior citizen a few months back.

If youre only answer to Americas terrible gun policy is to vote for the guys who just want to take guns away from poor people (aka an assault weapons ban)then youre not really providing any meaningful solution

It's a good job an assault weapons ban is not the only answer then innit? It's not even the first thing actually suggested. There are tons of measures like closing the gun show loophole or waiting periods that are proven to reduce gun violence and have bipartisan support (80%+) amongst voters. The only reason that even those don't get passed is because the NRA and weapons manufacturers have paid off the GOP and some moderate Dems.
