In an ideal world, yes.... adblocking is freeloading. We should all be a-ok with an ad or two per screen or a short ad in front of a video.

But be real. Adblockers proliferated because ads became intrusive, obnoxious, excessive, and time-consuming. When advertising objectively makes web browsing massively shittier, people are going to default rely on adblocking software.

Adblocking isn't going away, and it is the advertisers and content providers that made them a necessity.

Ads weren't a big problem when they were relegated to banners at the top of a page or sometimes down the sides. Companies got greedy and invasive with them thus the rise of adblockers.

These companies deserve nothing, this is a monster they created.

Honestly I wouldnt mind ads if they werent as intrusive. A static banner at the top or even the side of a page would be fine. What I cant stand are the ads that interrupt scrolling, show up in the middle of posts, etc.

Fuck that.

This, and tbh I've actually bought stuff from the static ads and look at them, whereas the bs ones that get thrown at you, I back out immediately.

So blame the advertisers, TC. Shows that ran 24 minutes back in the day now only run 22 and why? More fuckin' ads. Block away, I say.
