The person I talked to did not sale Google as a place I'd ever want to work. Especially because the interview process is a pain in the ass. As for starting a business, I'd say "who hasn't?" One of the reasons why many top schools are talking about getting rid of legacy admissions is that they simply have an excess of highly qualified applicants, even within that population (the fact that they can spin it as DEIA is just a nice side benefit). I know for a fact that Penn rejects most of its legacy applicants, and I assume the same is true of the other Ivies. It's simply harder than ever (not counting populations who were outright excluded in the past).
