Deion Sanders has become a target for criticism, but Jason Whitlock took his hate to the next degree. The former columnist took 45 minutes on his 'Fearless' show to talk about the collapse against Stanford. He went right at Sanders, virtually unloaded on him and questioning the dynamic of the Colorado Buffaloes.

This is a step further from his comments last week when he accused Coach Prime of supporting a losing culture and stat padding for Shedeur to keep him in the Heisman race. Must we say that Sanders lives in Whitlock's head rent-free?

He said Deion's post game message was "inappropriate" as a coach, and it embraced fraud tactics. While there was nothing wrong with what Sanders said, and ESPN's Kirk Herstreit even applauded him for it, Whitlock is prone to pitching toward his base. He believes Buffs two-way star Travis Hunter is a scapegoat, and they lost to Stanford because they were trying to keep Shedeur's stats clean.

"Because we have our racial idolatry lenses on, we don't care about Travis Hunter," Whitlock said. "We don't care about what's best for Travis Hunter. All we care about is Deion "Prime Time" because we're groupies for Deion. And we don't care who gets exploited in the name of Deion.

"Deion is your God, and you're mad at me because he's not my god. And you're mad at me because I'm telling you that you're worshipping a false god. And you just want to enjoy. Man, I just want to enjoy my football Saturdays and love Deion, and Whitlock tells me I'm wrong for worshipping Deion. Because you are."

Colorado is in the midst of a bye week before facing No. 25 UCLA at the Rose Bowl. Another nationally televised matchup for Sanders and the Buffs with coverage from ABC on Oct. 28.

And even though Colorado lost, people were into it. For a 1-win team to capture fans attention the way Colorado has is something, whether Whitlock wants to admit it or not.
