What if they made this useless thing good? Make Butterfree strong too

You know what? Bugs in general need to be better

Mega Beedrill is gone but not forgotten.

Butterfree has Compound Eyes and a 99% accurate sleep powder. If it was a little faster it'd be one of the best status mons period.

it's still competitive in some way if it manages to quiver dance to set up and then sleep powder.
maybe that is what pokemon showdown used to have

then again anything rock type would blow it up in one hit.

didn't they create volcarona and genesect just to shut people up about this

I named mine Waspinator and imagined it said terrorize every time it mega evolved.

Beedrill was my favorite pokemon as a kid.

Which is weird because it A) Sucks, B) is a hornet and I hate those, C) is a super asshole in the anime, and D) has a weakness to like every element in Red/Blue

What can I say, I just liked the design.

True. QD was a huge boon for any bug. Gens 4 and 5 did a lot for bugs.

Bug types were the coolest ones to me as a kid

Pinsir, Beedrill and Scyther all looked badass

Pity the actual typing is useless in game

not everything needs to be top tier. there's lots of pokemon that are only good early to mid game.

He should be banned from almost every tier.

Anything goes is meant to be the broken tier. If he's still there any mold breaker Pokemon or phaser+ hazard, hail or sandstorm should make quick work of him.

AG just got its ladder removed and replaced with natdex-ubers (where shedinja, mega-gengar, mega-rayquaza, and both of the gen 9 digimon are banned)

Why is it called Beedrill when it has Lances/Spears, not drill? It's mega form made it more obvious that it's a lance.

It needs a buff for sure. Has too many resistances and weaknesses against it vs strengths.

Super effective against Grass, Psychic and Dark
But 2x damage against Fire, Flying, Rock, and Poison

It resists Grass, Ground, and Fighting
but is resisted by Fire, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Ghost, Steel, and Fairy.

Being resisted by Ghost, Poison, Fighting, and Fairy should be taken out imo

It's also one of those weird types where it shares a resistance against and to the same.. Which is fighting.

Why fairy resists it is beyond me. Also what's really funny is that bug and poison were super effective against each other in gen 1, but it got changed to be resisted by poison, while poison doesn't do SE damage against it. Crazy it got nerfed hard, and there weren't even that many powerful bug moves in gen 1

There weren't that many bug moves period. Leech Life, Twin Needle, Pin Missile, none of which were powerful.
And none of them had good distribution. Didn't get decent distribution on a move until Fury Cutter.

Pin Missile on Jolteon was fun though. High crit chance and "if one crits they all do" thanks to gen 1's weirdness.

@Arcanine2009 Speaking of type weirdness, dark and ghost should have always been physical and special respectively instead of the other way around. Ghost is meant to resemble shadow magic, while dark just means underhanded tactics. Bite, Sucker Punch, Thief, etc. all make sense to be dark. Dark Pulse though? That's what Shadow Ball is supposed to be. Coupled with the stat distribution for most ghosts, it's almost like ghost was going to be special at first, only to be changed at the last minute.

Wonder Guard, Shedinja's ability, makes it immune to any damaging moves that aren't super effective against. A pure electric type with an air balloon has no weakness, which would make Tera Electric Shedinja able to ignore every damaging move in the game.

Its bot unbeatable, though its not guaranteed that every team would have an answer.

holding an item like heavy duty boots would likely be better for it.

Yeah, if you don't have phasing or sandstorm it's curtains.

Pretty sure mold breakers should work too since that invalidates the enemy pokmon's ability
