Steve Borthwicks men moved into the last-four of the global tournament with a 30-24 victory over Fiji on Sunday. The Red Rose have taken advantage of an easier draw, with Argentina the only Rugby Championship or Six Nations side they have faced so far in the competition. England will need to go up several levels if they are to overcome the defending champions, but 1995 World Cup winner Stransky doubts whether they can lift their standards. England have made themselves quite a good competition side, they do the basics well, but I dont see any area of the game in which they are really strong, Stransky told The Telegraph. I dont see one element where they can dominate, they are a decent team, but no more than that. They looked after the ball better against Fiji, but no part of their game sets them aside from other teams. They dont excel in any areas. They could easily have lost against Fiji again, but just about did enough. They can do the basics, but lack the excellence required to beat a stronger side, such as South Africa. The Springboks are heavy favourites for Saturdays semi-final after they came through the pool of death and then edged hosts France in the last-eight. Jacques Nienabers men showed incredible resilience and skill to get through that clash against an impressive French side and, on paper, have a much easier game this weekend. They will attempt to guard against complacency but, should the Boks get the physicality and intensity right, Stransky cant see England getting close. They like to kick the ball a lot, get territory and try to force mistakes. But against the better teams in the world, you need more than that, and from what Ive seen, I dont feel they have it, he said. I would expect the Springboks to win comfortably. I think it will be an easier game than the amazing battle with France. They just keep the ball, roll over NZ in scrums and mauls, and take the ball back quickly in rucks when NZ has it.
