After I play most competitive games long enough, turning off music is best.

A lot of games have music that just annoys me as I get older so I just turn it off. A lot of games like Hitman get way more intense and feel more immersive with no annoying music constantly swelling and diminishing over and over again.

While WoW's music is usually quite good, it's not something you'd want on loop forever because you would go insane.

There's some Lemmings fan level packs where the music is extremely irritating or distracting and needs to be turned off, but that's not the whole game, it's not official content, and that's the closest thing to an example of what TC is asking about that I can think of.
