As a poor American who never read beyond what I was told in high school, it never ranked high on my "damn, I'm glad I wasn't alive in that time and place" list.

...many innocent people were accused and executed. The Reign of Terror is often seen as a dark chapter in history due to its brutality and its impact on the lives of countless individuals. So, yes, it was a very difficult and distressing period in French history.

Yeah, it's proof that a violent far left movement isn't that much better than a violent far right one.

Emphasis on violent.

Yeah it was basically 10 months of misery, fear, and despair...

It was true example of mob rule where no one was safe from accusations and death...

Hermit's right in that it was a historical example of when leftism goes way too far...

While not to that extreme, I also consider the modern state of San Francisco to be a great example. Horrendous sanitation, living condition, rent, price of food and other goods, and safety. Hobos everywhere to the point where an entire district is just like hoboland and unfit to walk to. Cars get broken into on a regular basis. Most buildings have restaurants and other stores closed for business and literally unaffordable by most companies, even if they might've been operating there for years. The rich live on the top of the hill and face almost none of those problems due to myriad of security and wealth. Rest kinda live there cuz they have a good job there, but I can't imagine anybody living there willingly.

It's all because their extreme leftist governing body refuses to regulate certain things to keep to their liberal standards.

Balance is definitely great in all things. The moment you see it tip one way or the other, you basically face all the problems of the extreme side immediately

If you didn't notice, you're not alone. i was wondering why a random wrestling topic would be here. The occasional wrestling topic, sure, but not so specific.

History has inaccurately portrayed this period for whatever reason.

It was actually known as the "Reign of Terriers" where everybody was forced to adopt a terrier and their population got out of control, ultimately leading to a culling.

Very sad stuff.

If people ever wondered why HHH was hated for so long it was because of this: he ran Raw for almost 3 years and he buried just about everyone who got in the ring with him: Booker, RVD, Kane, Goldberg, Orton, Eugene, Jericho, Bubba Dudley,Nash etc... The only one who didn't get completely mauled by HHH were HBK, Batista, Shelton Benjamin, and the guy we don't talk about who main evented WM20...
