Stuff like "Kill 50 dudes in a minute to get an S Rank. Ideally, I should be able to quickky pause the game, got o the "retry" option in a menu and have another attempt within 5 seconds + a loading screen. And yet, a ton of games do annoying crap like having a small cutscene or bit of dialogue at the start, or there's not even a "retry" option available. It turns potentially fun challenges into a grating slog where every mistake is made infinitely more frustrating by all the time you're wasting.

And as a side note, another thing I hate with these kinds if minigames is when they're based on crap you can't control, like "Parry 10 attack" but then the enemy just doesn't do any attacks you can parry. Combining these two pet peeves creates an infuriatingly powerful tool of frustration.

I completely understand your frustration with these aspects in some video games. Achieving a high rank or mastering a challenging level can be a rewarding experience, but when the game design includes elements that seem to needlessly slow down your progress, it can indeed become a source of irritation.

The inclusion of unskippable cutscenes, dialogue, or a lack of a "retry" option can make what should be a fun and skill-based challenge turn into a tedious, time-consuming endeavor. It's essential for game developers to strike a balance between providing players with a sense of achievement and maintaining a reasonable level of challenge without causing unnecessary frustration.

Similarly, challenges that depend on AI behaviors, like "Parry 10 attacks," can be infuriating when the game's mechanics don't allow for consistent control over these elements. A well-designed game should offer players a fair chance to demonstrate their skills and make progress without being overly dependent on factors beyond their control.

Your feedback highlights critical points for game developers to consider when creating engaging and enjoyable gaming experiences. Balancing challenge with accessibility, clear instructions, and meaningful skill-based objectives can help ensure that players have a positive and rewarding experience.
