Nordic countries have adopted socialist methods for the parts that are successful versus everywhere else and anyone making claims about "both sides" are conservatives and thus by default hate anything that would fall under socialism minus the end result. This is the same with how you can point out a 15 minute city in a picture and get them to say about how amazing that it looks and how they would love to have it, yet at the same time if you ask them if they wanted a 15 minute city they would either not know what it was or outright despise it.

Depends on the country. Exports from most of the big ones are how they make their bank. That and high taxes while taking care of their citizens with those taxes and exports.

Finland, Norway and Sweden have large forest resources, and, thus, timber and pulp and paper have been important export products. Sweden also has significant iron ore reserves.
Finland got tech money from Nokia, Angry Birds, Max Payne, etc.
