Maybe if I'm sneaky and subtle about it, I can sew the seeds of program failure for a few years before I'm caught, and bank roll that salary while saving humanity. Sounds like a win-win. Even if I'm fired within the first year, it's still a lot of money to delay the end of humanity by fucking up at my job. And judging by how CEOs like the Unity guy who got rehired after fucking up at EA "fail upwards".... doing badly at your job seems to be rewarded at the top, not punished. ~~What do you mean, "leaving nuclear materials in the control of AI won't be the end of humanity"?
