Yeah just go for the OLED model since it's just $300. Sometimes you can get it for a little less. Best bang for your buck is waiting till BF this year since it's coming up.

Fuck it, I think I'm going to lean toward the Deck now. Any chance of sales happening for it?

Looks like it went as low as $360 during the last steam sale. Next steam sale should be in December I'm guessing, so I'll wait till then

I saw that when I was searching around. Any reason I shouldn't trust a GameStop refurbished compared to a steam refurbished (which looks to be out of stock)

Gamestop refurbished you have no idea who refurbished it. At least with a Steam refurbished you know it was a valve employee, so if something arrives messed up, you have a direct point of contact. Plus with a Gamestop refurbished I would imagine they wouldn't give you a refund, they would force you to take in-store credit.

Seriously? That's how much it cost when I went to gamestop yesterday.

Nintendo doesn't discount the switch for black Friday. They just throw in a Mario Kart code and a few months of online for the same price.

Partially. The controllers are more resilient now.

There is also some content online about buying Gamestop refurbished systems and opening them up to see what's in them. Results vary.

Various YouTube tech people have picked one up. Only issue is that since its refurbished that you cant buy in store and its all coming from the factory so you cant see it in person and verify the condition before hand.

I swapped off my original switch for a OLED model starting a month ago and imo this is the one to go for.

The switch stand at the back actually functions extremely well, battery life is definitely improved, games look really good on the small OLED screen to the point where if the performance is fine I would opt to get a game on the switch compared to the steam deck, and one thing I like about the pokemon OLED switch (I'm not sure if this is on the normal OLED model since I only ever used this pokemon scarlet and violet one) is that the joycons+switch itself is made out of a matte-like material.....it feels a good bit better to the touch compared to the original switch's more glossy-like material.

If you are going for a switch now I'd go for a OLED model for sure.

*The OLED dock also has a built-in ethernet port. Useful in case you ever want to play smash ultimate or mario maker 2 online and don't want to lag up the joint. In case you did not already have your own usb ethernet adapter to use on nintendo stuff anyway*.

I'll just wait for the Thanksgiving time sale
