I'm glad KETO is fading out. Everyone, and I mean 100% of the people I know that have claimed to do the keto diet has gained weight, got flabby and unbalanced. While fats are not to be 100% avoided, you need very little to have hormones and bodily functions at their optimal level.
Meanwhile every cell in your body, from muscle cells to brain cells, absolutely thrives off of fructose glucose dextrose sucrose lactose, whatever you want to call it, it is -sugar- is what our bodies function the best from.
Fruit
Grains
Potatoes
Rice
Starches
Breads
Pastas

Just look at anyone you've in person stick to KETO - high fat meats, oils, lard, grease butter, animal fat...

Carbs are the new salt. Years ago people liked to blame all their health issues on salt while continuing to eat a diet rich in saturated fats. The paranoia around salt is starting to fade, but its being replaced with carbs and sugar.

It's just to acknowledge that highly refined straight pure table sucrose/glucose is not bad for you
If you were on your death bed in a hospital you're probably hooked up to an IV being fed sucrose/glucose

Eh, in my case and many others my diet can use tightening up a lot more in the carb department than anywhere else. I'm snacking on candy and shit which is definitely poor eating.

Almost no one is eating too much protein, so really it just depends on your regular eating habits of what to cut from there. Although admittedly, many people who aren't me indulge in too much fat.

Its waaaaayyy more nuanced than this. Sugar IS bad, but a lil sugar wont do much harm. Also all those foods you mentioned, their health level depends mostly on how they were prepared. Whole grains, sourdough bread are much much much better than their processed, white counter parts.

Funny how your argument is that glucose is necessary to biological function while making the argument that fat is bad.

there are good and bad sources of glucose and fat. And even the good ones need to be consumed within moderation. People who are overweight the vast majority of the time are getting at least one, but usually both of those wrong.

Anything outside of moderation isn't good for you. The levels that define moderation depend on what we're measuring, of course.

I think any diet that aims to eliminate an entire macronutrient is suspect at best, particularly for long term use.

Biggest issue I've seen with almost anything marketed as keto is the fat content, particularly saturated fat.
