Here's one with many shots of Mario not currently moving full tilt in one direction and in fact standing in place. And it's the first trailer I looked up too.

In this very short very old trailer for the first Sonic Adventure Sonic visibly stops moving for a moment and changes direction around 15 seconds in.

DKC 2 trailer; they're usually doing stuff but you can tell that they pause briefly and change directions all the time. It's not just one solid flow of movement like that new trailer for Sonic Dream Team:

But also it was just speculation, geez. It was like one sentence of speculation, not a concrete complaint.

They don't pause to show you the character models for one second; they're evening running when they first show you all the characters. They don't pause running for a second to show off the environment, and the "platforming" is just bouncing and shooting off at high speed.

I'm not even saying it couldn't be a fun autorunner.

So is Rouge part of Sonic & friends now

Im not saying its not an auto runner either, I just dont think a 30 second teaser tells us anything

fwiw Mario is running full tilt in like 98% of the gameplay in that 2.5 minute trailer

it could definitely be a runner esp since its on mobile but we just dont know

Missed opportunity for a callback to Sonic Shuffle. You know...that other game that takes place in a world of dreams.

They tried and it didn't work. Have you seen the gap between releases starting from Generations? I'd rather them do quantity if they can't get the quality right.

Sonic Team has definitely slowed down, although the quality of the games isn't much better. Anyway, this is just a budget mobile game. They should experiment with them more to see what ideas they can implement in the main console games.

That's literally happened to me about a dozen times now.

Sonic frontiers is peak fiction. Flawed game but the the sequel is gonna be so good if they don't fuck up

As a fan of Sonic, I'll always watch the trailers in hopes of something grabbing my attention, but I'm disappointed every time.

The level design in the trailer doesn't look like a literal auto runner. Lots of little things but mostly where we see Rouge gliding down to a large circle of rings. It does look like a "boost" game though, which are basically autorunners where you have to manually hold "forward" >___>

Considering it's a mobile game my guess is that it's probably mostly boost-spam with some intermittent, simple platforming segments used as pace breakers.

Rouge the Bat looks like Rouge. Nice.
