The Democratic Party failed basic opposition research only to have Santos' fraudulent record get exposed in the weeks after election day. More broadly, the NY Democratic party, with the Mayor of NYC all but calling his city a warzone, suffered the party's biggest setbacks of the 2022 midterms, likely costing Democrats the House.
