Fox News, long a preferred source of news for the right, has lately become an information refuge for American Jews who believe that the mainstream media has been too hostile to Israel.

Its somewhat of an improbable alliance. Jews overwhelmingly identify as Democrats. And as the Republican Party came to embrace a more populist brand of politics that vilifies globalist corporate interests and wealthy liberal financiers like George Soros something many see as coded antisemitism Fox News hosts and guests promoted those views.

But more than any of the major cable news channels and perhaps more than any other major American media outlet Fox News has wrapped itself in the Israeli flag in the weeks since the Hamas attack. Its coverage tends to emphasize the radical and antisemitic elements of the pro-Palestinian opposition, particularly on college campuses, while playing down the civilian casualties from Israeli strikes.

In recent days, a Fox News White House correspondent has sparred with President Joe Bidens press secretary over whether the administration would label anti-Israel demonstrators extremists. Its hosts have criticized the White House for announcing this week that it would put in place a national strategy to fight Islamophobia while hate crimes against Jews are on the rise. It debuted a new section on its website this week called Antisemitism Exposed.

Fair next, if Jewish people feel that other news networks are anti-Semitic, they should change the channel...

All media in the US is pro Israel pretty much.

Is this anti-Israel media on the wall of a bathroom or something? All the networks are rooting for Israel to destroy Palestine.

But all the MSM is extremely pro-israel to the point where they are all silencing their Muslim employees.

No, it must be the news stations reporting it that lies!

People who find the idea of Palestinians being a people who deserve human rights "offensive" would have eventually drifted over to Fox News to begin with. The fact is that the vast majority of American media is incredibly slanted towards Israel though and nothing other than the hardest form of Zionism (The denial of Palestinians as being an ethnicity or deserving human rights) is going to appease those people.

Framing this kind of hardcore Zionism as being what all Jewish people believe though is fundamentally anti-semitic. The reality is that anti-Zionist ultra-orthodox communities in America are still very anti-Israel and aren't going to be flocking to Fox News for this any time soon. Jewish people hold a diverse range of views on Israel and there is no fundamental "Jewish" stance on Israel.

I think its become more tiresome to deal with the situation in a one side or their side paradigm.

The fact remains is that when you turn on the news, for the most part you are seeing a lot of pointing the finger at Israel, justifiably so to be honest. As a result, the rising tide of antisemitism is being swept under the rug, because it feels like its been drowned out by anti Israel sentiment. Which obviously isnt happening on Fox News.

The problem is, that foxnews seems to be headed to that Islamaphobia nonsense too. But its really hard to be Jewish at the moment and be anti-hate when you have to put up with all the anti Israel sentiment at this point.

But Im sticking with CNN anyway.

I can't speak for everyone, but my mom and her friend are Jewish, both voted Democrat but are much more in the center. My mom has never liked people like Bernie or AOC that lean too far to the left but also hated Donald Trump and voted for Biden even though she isn't a big fan.

She is constantly talking about how her and her friend feel like they can't vote for Democrats because of how horrified they are by what they see as anti-semitism on the left, cheering for Hamas and Palestinians against Israel. They see Israel as defending itself against terrorism and that it needs to get rid of the terrorists and are horrified by what they see at liberal colleges, where people have celebrated Hamas (harvard) or made anti-jewish threats (cornell), etc.

They feel like the anti-israel people are motivated by antisemitism, and thinks people like AOC and the Squad who want to stop Israel support are antisemitic.

And as people here know I have defended Israel in posts but I did argue back that just because you support palestinians and are upset by the killing it doesnt make you antisemitic, but that is how they see it, and I imagine other jewish people feel the same

Edit: I don't think they would ever vote for Donald Trump but an inoffensive candidate on the right could get some votes at a time like this with people being disillusioned by the left, and the hard part is both jewish americans and arab americans have reason to be upset at the left in their own minds. And I think a LOT of people brought up Jewish see Israel in a mostly positive light and might not know all the details. And it doesn't help that there is legitimate anti-semitism being mixed in with more legitimate anti-israel stances

There is no reason on Earth to complain about the left. Israel murdered in cold blood and American Reporter and we did nothing. The most people are doing are saying, hey maybe you should not blow up hospital and ENTs. Israel steal people homes and we do nothing. And everyone has condemn that attacks on Israel. Leaders in Israel have literally called openly for the removing all Pals off of their land. The left is being more than fair to them.

There are no specific metrics available on the religious affiliation of Foxs audience since Oct. 7, the day Hamas first attacked Israel. But ratings data from major metropolitan areas with large Jewish populations including New York, Miami and Los Angeles, show a spike in viewership that outpaces its rivals.

I don't think it's Biden specifically they are mad at, but the very vocal anti-Israel crowd.

They see that Israel suffered a horrific terrorist attack and people jumped to condemn Israel and defend Palestinians and some actively supported Hamas. As people have said in the past Jewish people as a people still deal with trauma from the holocaust and antisemitism and they are sensitive to these things.

It's like criticizing BLM as a group may be legitimate does not make you racist, but people might see it that way because of dealing with racism, and that some racist people will do it.

So their goal is to then either not vote at all, or vote for the party that also has klan members and neo nazis?

That just means enough Israeli citizens of voting age support them. That could mean nearly 50% of Israeli citizens of voting age don't support them. Jewish people who are not Israeli citizens, had no say in it. They might support it, they might not; just like any given non-Jewish person might support it or might not. Speaking of which, not every Israeli citizens who voted is necessarily Jewish, either.

There's no reason to make assumptions on the basis of "they're Jewish" when the actual issue is whether or not they support Israel's actions. People who are pro-Israel try to make that association as a way to let them deflect criticism of Israel as "anti-Semitism". People who are anti-Jew (which is not the same as anti-Israel) try to make that association so they can use Israel's war crimes as an excuse to spread hatred. Let's not help either of those "causes" out.

There are more Jews in the US than Israel. They have nothing to do with getting Netanyahu elected. That's some pretty basic math.

I haven't looked into this yet to verify the claim.

That said it wouldn't shock me IF it's true. I think it's a pretty safe bet the America's default position is simp for Israel. If you dare question the Israel government, well then it's time play the trap card, "antisemitism!" That trap card is very powerful in American politics.
