Blank Space
Apparently the spot on the album for Blank Space was between that and Slut! so I'm glad Blank Space won - I like the other song but I feel like Blank Space is probably her most iconic song she has

respectable choice, it's a good one

Nobody asked for all this but I felt it would be fun to do anyway.

Never heard anything but Blank Space and Shake It Off before but I liked Midnights a lot so I thought I'd check out "Taylor's Version" of 1989. I haven't heard the original, I'd rather just listen to her new version because I get the impression (without doing much research) that she disowned the originals. My thoughts after one active listen each:

Welcome to New York - 8, Very fun song, great opener to set the vibe.
Blank Space - 6, Kinda indifferent to this one, I think it will have to grow on me. I was put off by how overplayed I remembered it being but it's not as bad as I thought.
Style - 7, Not much to say honestly, it was good but not a memorable first listen.
Out of the Woods - 5, I like the melody and the way it rolls but not the repetitiveness of the chorus. Wallpaper music.
All You Had to Do Was Stay - 6, High pitched "stay" wore on me a little and I think it was repeated too much.
Shake It Off - 9, I thought I'd hate this one because I did 9 years ago but I dig it a lot.
I Wish You Would - 7, High energy and I bet it sounds good live, especially the drums which are great and very 80s.
Bad Blood - 7, Anthemic chorus is cool, I like how loud and powerfully she seems to be singing in the prechorus and especially toward the end.
Wildest Dreams - 9, Incredibly pretty song and I like the heavy reverb in the chorus. This may edge out Shake It Off because it stole my attention and choked me up. I didn't expect to give the nod to a ballad but credit where it's due.
How You Get the Girl - 8, Love the drums and lyrics, amazing chorus, fun song. This should've been promoted more, how this was never a single is mind-boggling.
This Love - 6, Pretty bridge and chorus but unremarkable verses. Maybe it'll grow on me.
I Know Places - 7, Odd timing was jarring and immediately noticeable lol not sure how I feel about that, but the chorus is good. I like when she screams "and we run!" before the second chorus (I'm not the only one, it's the most replayed section of the song lol)
Clean - 5, Pretty piano and easy to listen to but nothing special. It sounds very typical "Taylor" I guess. The vocal melody sounds exactly like I'd expect from a TS song, which isn't bad, just an observation.
Wonderland - 6, Not a fan of the "eh, eh, eh" (kinda sounds like an alarm after a while) but it's not bad otherwise. Very uplifting. I like the way she sings certain words lol she does that "awy" sound instead of a hard "i". I hear that a lot from her and it's pretty prominent in this one.
You Are in Love - 7, Super heartwarming, the lyrics stood out a lot to me and I like the fullness of the background music in the chorus. It supports her singing very well.
New Romantics - 7, Bright and energetic, and I see the appeal, but the music in the chorus is a little too much for me I think. Something about it, maybe too much treble.
"Slut!" - 5, Kinda boring, but I appreciate what she's saying.
Say Don't Go - 6, Also bordering on wallpaper music but it's decent. Filler, but not bad. The lyrics are easily relatable as in many of her songs.
Now That We Don't Talk - 8, Short and sweet, listened to this twice actually. I get light disco vibes from this, I'm into it.
Suburban Legends - 7, Flows nicely, clever lyrics. Solid.
Is it Over Now? - 7, Sounds very "grand" and fitting for the end, I almost feel like it's something that would play during closing credits of a movie. I this this would be great to fly to, it's got a soaring vibe to it.

Overall - 6.8
