Not knocking on a sequel, but we just got a Pixar movie about puberty. Shouldve at least staggered the releases a bit.

I can get them turning it down. While $100k is still a lot, it's kind of insulting compared to Poehler's pay. Nice of Phyllis to stay on as Sadness since she was the best part of the 1st one.

Why the fuck haven't they made a proper Monsters Inc sequel yet? That's like the only film of theirs worth doing a sequel for.

What was odd about it? The MC had me dying with how extra she was.

I guess if I had to pinpoint my main issue with the movie, it would be that the mother was just way too over the top. There were multiple scenes with her acting in a way that was just completely embarrassing to the main character and acting completely oblivious and unaware of the situation.

While I understand that the Director was drawing from personal experience, and perhaps some mothers are like that, it just felt way too out there for me to really connect with.

And then, on top of that, I felt the climax of the movie was pretty goofy with the main character just starting to twerk on her mother when she was a panda. Just odd choice to me.

I'll admit the movie wasn't directed towards everyone. However, it resonated with a lot of Asian women I know. My sister was bawling from this movie. I think it's alright that a movie isn't made for you and still recognize it's a well made movie. Everything, everywhere all at once felt like a mother/daughter movie at its core, but it won so many Oscars because it's a well made movie.

Turning Red just had so much personality and love put into it that I can ignore that I'm not who the movie was made for. Movies don't have to cater to everyone.

Money, but I think someone said after Elemental didnt wow the box office, that Pixar was going to do more sequels (because franchises are doing so well).

Oh, heck no! Im no doubt going to get forced to watch this on Disney+ by my niece whenever it comes out, and I cant very well refuse even if I dont particularly want to watch it. Dang it, Disney!

The story has no logical next sytep. It was over and it was fantastic.

EDIT: And this forum needs to stop acting like it exists in a vacuum. Lack of hype with Pixar movies? Even Elemental, as mid as it may have been, still made half a billion.
