Picked this up the other day, and having a pretty great time with it so far. The amount of customization and stuff is kind of absurd lol, but i love it. The game actively gives you all the tools to become a monster whenever you want

Currently at thirty eight hours. Just above level 100.

Played it originally when I was a kid, so I'm really enjoying playing it again.

They did a really good job updating the classic.

is the combat improved from the ps1 version? that's what turned me off from it

This is my first time playing, but ive heard theres a lot of updates from the original. Either way im liking what we got haha

Loving it so far. Train x bodyguard x scouting.

I'm on my second playthrough now to get the characters I didn't the first time. I've been waiting for a good Chrono style NG+ where you just stomp everything the second time.

Was up until like 2am playing this last night, didnt even realize id been playing so long haha.

I picked Claude as my story character and this man getting in his feelings anytime Rena does anything is so funny lmao

I'm basically doing the same.

With my Claude run through, I got Celine, Welch, Ashton, Precis, Chisato and Leon (Ashton teaches a thing to Precis, Precis teaches a thing to Welch).

My Rena run will have Dias, Opera, Operas boyfriend, Noel, Bowman and probably Celine.

I've been playing since day one. I've always loved this game and they've made so many interesting improvements. It's the most fun I've had playing a "new" game all year, with Super Mario Bros Wonder being a close second.

The environmental graphics are really good. Walking along the beach to fish looked great

Also i love the fishing

The only thing I really hate is you can't rotate the camera when in towns

In my top 3 fave games this year.

Got the plat last week. Was one of my favorite PS1 games. Remake is fantastic. Do not regret getting the CE.

I would definitely recommend this game if youre looking for a more old school experience. Theres a ton of modern quality of life added of course, but its a lot of fun.

The explanations seem to be better than before now haha. There is a LOT to take in when the game opens up but it is mostly well explained

Is this an FF type of thing where all the games are separate stories? I havent played any Star Ocean games before but this sounds good

You can play this game with 0 knowledge of the series. Its a sequel to 1 but its barely connected outside of a character or 2, that really have no bearing on the plot

Claude getting in his feelings all the time is making him my favorite character

Someone will say something innocuous and this guy will overthink the shit out of it lmao

its been a while since ive played a game that actively wants you to break it and abuse its systems as much as this one does

You can spend like an hour in the menus and emerge with a team of absolute warriors
