i always see comments of somebody posting their very young child or baby and somebody commenting , always a female , saying weird shit like

"oh the girls are going to be all over him if they arent already!" (young boy)

"oh what a stud"

or similiar kind of gross comments.

do the women who make comments like this not understand how disgusting this is

I have never heard someone refer to someone else's male baby as a "stud". That's kind of gross.

Societal gender norms. It's the same reason why a man who sleeps with a bunch of women are considered "players", "pimps", "chads", etc. while a women who sleeps with a bunch of men are considered "whores", "prostitutes", "sluts", etc. There are some things that are okay and not okay based off from the gender of said person. We're doing a better job moving past a lot of those shits, but they still prevail.

i dont agree with this one but this one at least has a form of logic to it. it takes a considerable amount more effort to get laid as a guy than as a woman. slut shaming is bad , but i can at least see the male end making at least some form of sense to use that kind of language

i guess its gender norms too but they never say "giving it up" to refer to a guy having sex but always for a woman. lots of language like that , that demonstrate the chase for men vs being chased for women. is that incorrect?

I think parents can be weird at times, but this is also sort of an extreme take on their behavior. I think it is more of a weird combination of cute aggression and slight narcissistic tendencies (parents wanting to think their kids are the best looking for whatever reasons). Most parents would never actually sexualize their children though and would be horrified to hear themselves perceived that way.

By using this same logic, it makes more sense for women to "sexualize" infants/boys than men because men on average are more likely to commit sexual assaults than women. It all boils down to social gender norms.

this is why i said the male side of that form of language has a form of logic to it, they have something to bring to the table, hence the positive vernacular referring to men who get laid often

I think its normalized because people understand intent. If someone says my son is handsome I know theyre obviously not hitting on him lol. Its just a compliment

Reread my post, because I never said this. All I said is that men are more likely to commit sexual assaults than women. If we were to use the same logic you used for my example, it would make more sense for women to be able to "sexualize" infants than men.

This. Like in elementary school one of my friends was already a really good looking dude. And so many people (mostly adult women) commented on how he was gonna be a lady killer when he got older. And sure enough, he's hot as an adult. Sometimes you can just tell when a kid is gonna grow into some good looks. It still sounds kind of weird, but the intent is important.

It becomes creepy when you have people excitedly counting down until a celebrity turns 18, because "she's gonna be hot as an adult" like people did to Mikey Cyrus, Billie Eilish, etc.

Idk like it's kind of weird when you push too much subtext on it, but I don't really think anyone in the situation is taking it that way and it's not particularly pushing any "harmful stereotypes" or anything.

It's just a longer way of just saying "your kid is cute" which I don't even think people always say that because they actually think the kid is cute either.
