Yeah that's why the game didn't sell well at all and definitely isn't one of the biggest hits of the year.

Yeah, it's Usiancentrism. People who are interested in things in other countries know not all countries use the same continent model

The fact that some countries use an outdated model means little. It's generally agreed upon that North and South America are 2 different continents. Twenty years ago I was taught they were one continent, kids going to the same school I went to today are taught they are separate continents.
I'm sure there are history books in some countries that refer to Native Americans as "Indians" to this very day. We disregard those as well instead of trying to sound intelligent using outdated and factually wrong language.

They didn't reveal official sales. It was over 5 millions in august. Steamspy estimates 20 millions. Personally I would not be that surprised since the game got good word to mouth

I don't remember ever being taught they were one continent even in the 90s.

Could be you were already taught the updated model. I remember us being taught the Olympic rings symbolized the 5 continents when we were learning about geography in grade school. That was back in the 90s, but we were likely using books made in the 70s or something.
