I thought when I bought my house I was gonna be the trashy person on my street because I'm a lazy fuck and I hate doing house chores. Told myself I would do the most minimum things to look clean and make proper appearances so I don't get people complaining about me. I'm not tryna brag but turns out I'm one of the cleanest.

Like, they leave their trash bins out by the curve for 1-3 days after trash day. Some didn't rake no leaves yet and there's no more leaves to fall. It's pretty messy on their yards. Literally let their kids' bikes and toys stay on the driveway for days. Honestly, I shouldn't be complaining because the trashiest they look the better I look just by comparison.

Guess I'm slowly turning into those judgmental people who thinks others are making our neighborhood look trashy and destroying our property values.

Well I hate HoAs and I won't be knocking on anyone's door unless their kid like runs me over or something similar. I'm just judging from afar.

That sucks -- I love how clean our neighborhood is. Trash day is on Friday but I was leaving town Thursday - Sunday. I put the bins out. When I got back Sunday, I found someone had put them back in front of the garage for us. Very nice gesture (even though there's also a chance it was done in a karen-esque manner, but if you know my neighbors, you'll know that's not the case).

But yeah, people don't leave their shit out, they park in their own driveways or in front of their own houses at most, and the lawns are great (when it's not bone try)

Also I thought the latest research said you were actually supposed to leave your leaves?

News to me. My city already came a round to pick up the leaves. They're supposed to come again next week for 2nd round and some people haven't raked their leaves yet.

I just let my leaves rot on my yard. I like how they smell and they are good fertilizer.

It's possible it's a psyop for lazy people like me but I'm pretty sure it's legit

Yeah, letting leaves stay is much better overall unless you're really obsessed with appearances. They provide great fertilizer for your lawn/plant beds in the spring when the snow melts, and they help small critters survive the winter.

Back in the early 90s, this neighborhood used to be pretty great.

Now, nearly half the houses are abandoned, empty lots. And the occupied houses are inhabited by people who dont care how shit looks, and all you hear is loud arguing and pibbles barking all the time.

Im just hoping for some rich land development frim to swoop in and offer me a sweet deal for my property so they can work on some kind of McCondo deal to spruce the area up or something.

Same. Our old house was in the country and we had a ton of trees in the backyard so the piles would end up being 2-3 feet tall in some spots and I loved plowing through and mulching them all with the riding mower.

This is what my brother does.

None of that sounds like a huge deal tbh. Myself Im guilty of leaving the empty trashbin in front of my house for a day or 2 after collection.
