Obviously you are not expected to tip technicians, like plumbers, painters, HVAC techs, etc. who come to your house to fix stuff.

You should tip people who deliver furniture or other heavy items where they deliver into your home at a room of choice, right?

You should also tip, during the holidays: baby/pet sitters, cleaners, garbage men, and mailman. Right?

I'd tip all of those.

I can only speak for myself, but when the holidays roll around, I tip my Mail carrier, the Sanitation workers, and the lady the mobile groomer that comes to my house and takes care of my dog.

I hand the driver (they're usually on my block around the same time I leave for work) an envelope with $100 (for the 4 of them) and tell them I'm treating them to lunch today.

the only time i ever did this was when growing weed was illegal and i wanted to make sure the dudes who were in my basement left happy. i gave them each $100 after installing my furnace. i wasn't actively growing at the time (shut down specifically for that), but i did have grow equipment and chemicals in plain sight.

I tape a gift card in a ziploc bag to the underside of the garbage can and make it very obvious something is there with a bright-colored paper. I have cameras on my property, and Ive seen them take it for the past few years now, so it works.

I tip table servers, taxi drivers, and hairdressers.

No one else.
