Im not sayin they do. Im saying that highlighting race in certain situations helps racial tensions grow. If racial tensions and other things, ie red vs blue ties, are strong enough to divide us then we will continue to allow the rich and the powerful to keep doing what they are doing. A house divided against itself cannot stand. Good people are the house. We are divided. We cannot stand. We are divided.

This reads like you think civilized people should make common cause with white nationalists vs. the rich.

That's not an option because making common cause with white nationalists is unacceptable, and, anyway, white nationalists are already tools of the ultra wealthy.

Omfg everyone is misinterpreting my comment. Im not saying im on the same team as fucking white nationalists. Im saying the general population. The people who want a better, equal world. But they say "white nationalists" instead of nazis, neonazis, domestic terrorists etc etc to divide the population. Just like when a crime happens, stereotypically if it is a black perpetrator then they show a picture of them as opposed to a white perpetrator.

As the Anti-Defamation League put it, white nationalist is "a new name for this old hatred." They believe in the same racial superiority that the Nazis did. They just self identified themselves with a new label.

To me, so long as the general public is clear on who and what they are, what they choose to call themselves is moot.

Furthermore Nazis were into genocide while white nationalists want to make everyone's life a living hell to the point that they leave the neighborhood or country. That's MAGA.

Yeah, I feel like we dont want genocide, just a good old fashioned ethnic cleansing! isnt really the best argument for differentiating yourself from Nazis. Especially given that the original Nazis started off by saying the exact same thingthey only turned to the Final Solition of systematic mass killing after they realized that expelling that many people from Europe would not be logistically feasible.

Ok, I'll revise that. They have the potential to become genocidal, especially with how comfortable they have become with fascism and criminal behavior. They absolutely hate being compared to Nazis however, so as the southern strategy goes, they instead make life more difficult for others in ways that benefit them. But yes, we recognize these tendencies now and need to do everything in our power to prevent it coming to that point.
