I've been watching American Dad clips over the past few days and every joke is solid.

American Dad by a wide margin.

But I don't watch too many of either, and I don't hate MacFarlane or either shows.

American Dad, for sure.

it had a rocky start, but after establishing what it was trying to be about, it has been consistently good throughout.

even when it went to cable, IMO.

If it were just the early seasons, Family Guy. If it were just the recent ones, American Dad.

The whole series... I initially thought American Dad, but then I realized Family Guy has significantly more episodes so it'll be longer until I hit repeats.

Definitely American Dad. Roger alone makes the show worth it. Klaus as well lmfao. I crack up every time Steve sings literally anything.

American Dad is easily more consistently funny. But I don't find the characters as likeable and enjoyable to watch.

I have to give it to Family Guy. Not that I think it's a better show. But I don't think I would get sick of it in the same way I would American dad. I already rewatched family guy en masse a lot during the early 2010s.

American Dad never resonated with me as much. It felt like King of the Hill with less-subtle satire and Family Guy with worse characters.

I have always been firmly in the Family Guy camp. I just like it better and have from the very start. Despite a bunch of people on here always saying Family Guy now sucks and completely fell off I still quite enjoy it and always have.

American Dad started out rough but once it hit its stride it was incredible. One of my favorite shows. Once they got a bit later in the seasons the relied way too much on edgy/gross humor and the show just wasnt funny to me at all anymore.

i think at a certain point they got past that though and the episodes started to become good again.

Family Guy past the first 3 seasons is just a pass.

I've been laughing more with its current seasons and pretty much learned what a 'Air Bnb' is because of the episode where Lois stayed in one and swiped the shampoo.

Conversely with American Dad, most of their current season is about Steve having to do cringey adolescent stuff and being awkward about it.

Family Guy shat all over American Dad during its first three seasons before it was cancelled, but after that, it started going downhill fast. American Dad stayed good or at least decent for much longer. So, I pick American Dad.

i gave american dad a real honest to goodness try. i got midway thru season 3.

it just isn't funny. it's not a good show.

There is literally no metric in which Family Guy is a better show than American Dad.

Family Guy but only because Ive never watched American Dad.

But I will say I dont care for Family Guy anymore.

After Family Guy began to lean way too hard on raunchy humor, & American Dad had to grow beyond Bush era conservatism, it really wasn't a contest anymore.
