I've listened to the Tears for Fears one a lot, but don't know if I ever listened to the Gary Jules version.

That Trailer is still one of the best over all packages of just making a game look cool, had such a memorable song and was our first look at the next gen of gaming at the time.

Disagree. The Gary Jules version reduces the song to a one note depression piece. The original Tears for Fears version is strong with the anxiety feelings that the song is about.

That trailer was so good, but the Tears For Fears version is great as well. Hard to say which I prefer, but being a big Gears fan back in the day, I do think I gotta give the slight edge to Gary Jules.
