I kan get behind a good bit of that, but he officially lost me when he brought up "eternal virgin". Exploration is exploration. Whether it's in a foreign kountry or on a digital plane, both kan be pretty fuckin schweet, but no amount of pron, dating sims, or hentai games is gonna lose your virginity. You do you, but it may be time to reevaluate some of your decisions if your stretching the facts this hard.

I feel bad for this kid. His cringe was immortalised for all time.

I'm glad my shitty creative writing essays I did in english class as a teenager never made the light of day.

I honestly believe this with golf.

So much money saved to get just as fun of an experience and possibly better courses too

To #7. I am well aware that there are many jobs that can be done remotely by now but that always surprised me. There was a time I was watching the wwe wrestling a lot again and you'd always see the same guy and like his mom or whatever sitting in the same seat about and it's like how does this guy travel to so many different cities and sit up front just for some wrestling show.

Cause traveling in video games means I gotta fight off goblins and bandits. Don't get me wrong, being on a plane near a crying child is almost as bad as getting goblin'd but--

Are those people on constant extended work breaks? Seemed pretty obvious to me. I just tried to add more to it from an experience I noticed than just saying. "I agree" or quote with no text.

Having had to deal with tourists in combination with anti-tourist sentiments growing up in the 90s, I never want to travel. The places where I don't have a communication barrier have no appeal to me, and the places that interest me I would not make myself a burden with my communication barrier. The latter part is wholly my fault for only being fluent in my native tongue. I might be able to eke my way through a single foreign language, but I don't desire going to any place where it's the common language enough to press my luck.

That being said, I wouldn't make the excuse of playing a video game instead. I just view vacations as pointless money sinks.

You realise that the language barrier is not a problem in most places in todays world, right? You certainly dont need to be fluent in the local tongue.

I've dealt with tourists who travel from other countries and speak no English. They're usually a pain in the ass. Since I don't want to run everything through a translation, nor do I have the money to pay for a translator to accompany myself, I know that I would be a burden when I have to interact with people. Even the other language I know a little bit of, is likely not enough to navigate what I would need to navigate.
But then, I also have no concept of what an actual enjoying vacation would be like for point of reference either. I hate sightseeing and cannot divorce the idea of inserting oneself into a culture different from my own for pleasure as something that isn't predatory and callous.

Like, since I can't speak German, and I'm not goint to make that burden of any person in Germany. The same would apply to other countries.

You need to understand that a huge number of people, including German people, have English as a second language and are more competent with it than some native speakers.

I was in about a dozen countries last year. Theres no way Im learning the languages of all of them.

But what did you do while traveling? For instance, my diet is restrictive, so any time food is involved instantly becomes a burden, since I'd need dishes fully explained and possibly a list of ingredients, and foods purchased from a store would require me to translate each ingredient listed.

I suppose I could look up food items for sale and translate the ingredients listed beforehand, but that's still an awful pain to the point a vacation would seem like a chore.

I have to deal with tourists a lot at my job. Most of the ones who have English as a second language understand the bare minimum of what I'm saying, so I would expect similar experiences while traveling abroad. Admittedly, their English is probably comparable to the one other language I know some of, though I'm not comfortable enough with that language to the point where I'd be willing to travel somewhere where it's the primary spoken language.

I picked Germany at random, but I will say that most of the German tourists I encounter often have a good understanding of English.

But without being competent in a language, what is there actually gained from travel? I cannot picture a meaningful experience if I could not fully understand or interact with what's going on around me. Like, if I went to Japan, what would I do? Get shuffled through a bunch of tourist spots or places other foreign randos have told people to go?

Admittedly, food is a big part of why I like to travel. I can see why having difficulties around food might put you off.

But no, you dont need to get shuffled through a bunch of tourist hotspots. My last trip was to Japan and it was great. The most touristy thing I did was go to Mount Fuji and everybody I interacted with there spoke English. The rest of the time I just spent exploring Tokyo. Its not hard to find cool and interesting things in a culture thats so different from your own.
