Biden vs. Obama reminds me a lot of LBJ vs. JFK... JFK and Obama were more popular, but which presidents made the most MEANINGFUL progressive policy contributions? Biden and LBJ... Biden has been great, I wish he had Obama's cool factor so more people would like him :(

We really need Democratic cities to start doing their part in reforming Pro building (YIMBY) regulations in order to increase housing supplies and reduce housing costs. As much as what Biden has done has been wonderful, most people only notice things like rent and housing prices.

It's always disappointing to see people care more about the aesthetics of the President than actual policies

Biden is basically LBJ minus Vietnam. He gets shit done, but he gets overshadowed by the personality of the president that he previously served under that was pretty objectively less able to get shit done.

At the federal level, they've codified gay marriage, climate bills, lots of medical items to lower costs for Medicare and others, etc. Many state legislatures have also codified abortion rights after roe v wade

Meanwhile, my health insurance doubled in cost, gay marriage was never not going to be a thing where I live, climate change good, abortion good but meanwhile you have... Texas and Florida and other shitty as states making things infinitely worse. What is helping those people?

I don't know anyone who has been positively effected. Do you? I can see some meaningful reforms with student loan consolidation, but if you were already in a payment plan, it likely didn't do much for you or like for me, would have costed more and would have extended how long I had to pay for it before forgiveness sets in. Life's a bitch

From inauguration until June, the administration has canceled $25 billion in loan debts for 1.3 million Americans, according to Forbes.

That includes: $7.9 billion for 690,000 people who went to schools that are now bankrupt; $7.3 billion for more than 127,000 borrowers through public service loan forgiveness; and over $8.5 billion for over 400,000 people who have a total and permanent disability.

In June, the US Department of Education canceled about $5.8 billion in loans for about 560,000 students of the now-defunct Corinthian Colleges, one of the largest. (It filed for bankruptcy in 2015.) Similar relief went out to former students of a bankrupt salon school.

In February, the administration discharged $415 million for close to 16,000 people, including 1,800 former students of DeVry University who got about $71.7 million in discharges on account of DeVrys substantial misrepresentations about its job placement rates.

That same month saw discharges of approximately $343.7 million for almost 14,000 borrowers in connection with now-defunct Westwood College as well as the nursing program at ITT Technical Institute.

Not good enough. I have friends and family facing uncertain futures where this country might literally try to kill them when a conservative gains power. And I mean when, not if, because it will happen eventually unless more is done. And I'm supposed to care about all that as the day to day management becomes worse and worse for queer people everywhere
