Akeleys first shot had wounded one of the cats back paws. Thanks to the bullet, the leopards jump was a bit off, giving Akeley enough time to throw up his hands.

Still a feat but in this scenario we don't get a shot to weaken the predator.

Leopards are the Napoleons of big cats, smallest but the most aggressive. I don't see a human winning against a fully grown leopard without weapons.

I'd argue thus tiger is playing. It's body language doesn't suggest its aggravated or wants to fight. It's tail It's flicking about aggressively and it doesn't appear to be going for a take down.

If it's a captive tiger, wilhuch it looks like it is, it probably hasn't learned proper hunting skills either. This is not a fair comparison to a wild animal.

The average person wouldn't stand a chance against a big wild cat.

That tiger is called Ozzy, the owner rescued him from a circus. His paws and some internal parts didn't grow properly, since the circus kept him malnourished.

Ozzy died a couple of years ago. The owner has Enzo and Diego.

Only with prep time. In the animal kingdom we humans are the Batman in a room full of super heroes.

Prep time for me would mean maybe getting a gun or more likely just getting hell away from the leopard. I don't know what kind of prep would allow me to beat one in a fight barehanded.
