I saw your first topic of this.
Anyway, yeah it's true that Gundam has cool robots and the original series's message was war is bad. I think that image is more about the fans that completely ignore that message and just glorify cool robots fighting each other, though. --- Many Bothans died to bring you this post. ... Just to be clear, I'm not being entirely serious with the title. Just watching some Gundam and it made me think of the meme. Mobile suits are still awesome to me because they're fictional. If they were real they wouldn't be. I think it's possible to think the machines themselves are cool while acknowledging war is awful.
Gundam 0080 brings up the subject and that is one of the many reasons why it's one of the best Gundam shows in the whole series. The main character Al and his friends are stand ins for a lot of the Gundam fanbase who never got the anti-war messages. SPOILERS RchHomieQuanChi posted...
