People have been wearing skinny jeans since what, the 1950s? It was definitely a thing amongst musical artists in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 2000s and beyond. Its just been so commonplace in fashion for so long that I dont understand the hate they get from older generations, when that fashion style was prevalent before some of those generations were even born. I feel like most people who despise the skinny jean trend attribute it to millennials and gen Z which always makes me roll my eyes.

Once you get old your brain starts turning to mush and you start to forget that the trends that you weren't the explicit target of even existed and thus they become "something new" when you see them in younger people. And then the brain rot starts to sink in and you think that somehow it's worse than the things from your childhood, something that was obviously false what with it also existing in that time period as well.

The trend I hated the most was the fake ripped jeans look that was popular for a brief moment. Everyone who took part in that looked like a total poser.

Thanks I had no idea /s

Those jeans by Metallica are 100% skinny jeans. Led Zeppelin regularly wore skinny boot-cut, The Beatles and Luke Bryan are wearing slim tapered. Old/ traditionalist types lump all those styles into skinny.

When did I say or allude to this? I said people, not rockers. Women were wearing skinny jeans by the 1950s for sure, men were beginning to wear slim tapered by this point.

They're super popular in young/teenage women right now. My 17 year old niece loves them.

I guess a whole generation was growing up with baggy being the norm, then when they started making a comeback during early to mid 2000's it was associated with emos, metro sexuals and as a gay style of wardrobe (dont look at me this was the 2000's).
