I've been binge watching The Owl House for the first time.

That moment at the end of Season 2 episode 4 where its revealed a fake Luz is living with the mom is a giant what the fuck moment. Extremely eerie and just...huh? But I'm pretty sure there was also a hint in Season 1 that something wasn't right.

No spoilers for what's to come (unless you at least use spoiler tags). I might update this topic from time to time to share my thoughts on the show. I'm on S2 episode 5 and it probably won't long to finish the rest of the show. I know S3 was cut short and is just a few double length episodes.

Amity's heel-face turn was too fucking fast.
The first time we see her, she tries to murder Luz and bullies Willow non-stop.
Then the next time we see her, she has the gall to call Luz the bully.

I kind of agree.

Say what you will about Boscha (purple haired girl with three eyes), but at least she sticks to her guns and is a bitch through a through, lol.

Spoiler for anyone who hasn't watched at all yet. Yes you are right as during the end of Enchanting Grom Fright we see letters from camp claiming to be from Luz clearly not from her.

It's too bad S3 was cut short, but I still enjoyed the ending fwiw. The whole time I was watching it though I kept thinking to myself that some of these smaller plot points in S3 were probbaly supposed to be their own episode but they had to speedrun throught it.

I thought the crew said S3 wouldn't exist in it's current form if they had more episodes. Namely the human realm being less used. Though maybe I did mishear.

Not sure if used less would be the case given how little time they spent there, and one of the things I remember being mentioned was a subplot with Vee and Hunter.

Additionally one of the show's writers Molly Ostertag has had some of her own Graphic Novels.

First is a trilogy consisting of The Witch Boy, The Hidden Witch and The Midwinter Witch. Not exactly LGBT, but it has the lead character who is a boy that performs witch based magic much better than the expected shapeshifter magic.

Also during the writing of The Owl House, a single GN "The Girl From the Sea". Centers around a relationship between a human and kelpie. Good stuff.

I remember thinking that was the camp being evil and forging the letter

Now that I'm done with the show, some brief thoughts on it.

. I found the first season kind of weak. I didn't really get onboard with the show until late Season 1. Season 2 was much better and the finale was amazing.

. Kikimora is so annoying. She reminds me of a coworker who hates you and will do anything to get you terminated. But it always backfires and they just get more and more on thin ice with their boss. She was so pathetic and desperate to be in Belos' good graces, and yet he just tells Kikimora to die in a hole, lol.

. Season 3 was kind of cramped, but the finale "Waiting and Dreaming" was a pretty touching sendoff. It really felt like you were saying goodbye to all these characters.

. I was surprised at how dark the show could be at times. Especially finding out Hunter is a grim-walker and one of Belos' many failed dozen attempts that were discarded into a pit. That's fucked up. Belos is pure evil.

. I was expecting Boscha to get redemption. But nope, lol. She didn't get redeemed one bit.

. The Collector reminds me of the World from Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends. They're almost like a direct parallel, being powerful childish entities locked up and are very dangerous when pissed off. But then they see the error of their ways.

I don't know.

1. Boscha still gets an attempt to make nice and unlike Odalia is included at the celebration at the end. Mixed in describing her. Amity and anyone else who found her off-putting wouldn't be obligated to get along with her, but I would have found it off-putting for adult characters (Like Alador and Lilith) to get a second chance while she was given no bright spots near the end.

Yeah, I'm kind off critiquing Mircaculous.

2. Besides just enjoying fluffy content often, Season 2's darkening does kind of feel more impactful after having a more light hearted first season.
