Those were simpler times. Basically, a young couple traveled across the country in a van. Tensions flared up between the two of them when Gabby rigorously cleaned the van due to her OCD, and Brian didn't like that. The argument finally came to a head in Wyoming when he strangled her to death and just left her dead body there. He then drove to Florida, went into hiding, and shot himself. It's crazy how that was the biggest news story on the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

Yes. Gabby's parents are suing Brian's. It's believed that Brian's parents sheltered him for a while and then helped him escape into the woods. Some even suspect they knew he was going to kill himself
