I almost hope not, on the grounds that the first one hooked me so hard I played it and only it religiously for months.

If it is, I can only hope my body is ready.

High probability I get obsessed with studying pawn AI again if it's even slightly playable.

I'm trying to temper my hype by reminding myself that the first time I picked up Dragons Dogma 1, I was completely lost and had no idea what the game wanted me to do. I forget what it was exactly, but there was a pretty major game mechanic that I had just completely misunderstood. I got super frustrated and quit after just a few hours thinking the game was total garbage. I only went back like a month later after a friend mentioned he started playing "this crazy awesome game that nobody seems to know anything about." And as an example of it being awesome, before even mentioning the name of the game, he proceeded to explain the exact mechanic that I had gotten so completely wrong. I couldn't stop laughing for like 5 minutes, and all I managed to get out was "You're playing Dragon's Dogma!" I reinstalled the game that night and fell in love. XD

Never played the first one, so didn't participate this time around.

It was so under the radar! I only found it because it was free on PSN!

I don't think I'm too much to blame, it came out in a giant cloud of no publicity whatsoever around the same time as Skyrim.

I am troubled though, usually I won't go near a game board until I've beaten the thing, but the nature of pawns means I have many old friends already talking on the boards.

Definite spoiler avoidance issues.

I'm going to make the smallest, skinniest character possible and give them the biggest stick I can find.

Or the biggest most chunky character and give them the smallest knives I can find.
