Death is the ultimate end. And I believe in doing all we can in sustaining life, not ending it. If that person has any way in surviving through whatever mental harm they have experienced, then that would not only save that person, but save their families and friends from suffering the loss of their loved ones.

And again, I will reiterate since many users here for some reason find it impossible to read through a topic, this is different for someone with physical disabilities or pain which has made their life unbearable. At that point euthanasia would unfortunately be their only choice.

I disagree with that part. I have no idea what happened in their lives which is why I said it was a good question as to why the wife wanted to die too.

On it's face, I think it's rather beautiful.
My partner of 29 years is in very poor health, and I don't imagine there will be much that I will care about when he's gone. It would be lovely to have a dignified exit with the person you spent your life with.

Unfortunately this "everyone has the right to an opinion" shit they pushed on us as kids gets taken way too far. Frankly, no, a lot of issues most people do not have the right to an opinion on. That's why we have these things called "professionals" and "experts." There's a reason Pluto's declassification wasn't put to a vote (or if it was, that vote was among the experts only). Because most people aren't qualified to give valid input on the topic.

Now if only we could extend that simple logic to politics.

There's financial incentive for every aspect of life and service under the sun. You don't think euthanasia is a scary door to open in the US? Canada is already letting poor people execute themselves instead of helping them.

Lets do this again then. There was no indication that she was suffering from anything like her husband. As another user said (And the article) duo suicides have become more popular, implying that the other person is simply killing themselves due to their significant other dying.

But like I ALSO said, it depends on what they went through, something that could have been kept private and something that the experts and professionals deal with.
