With little exception, there's no reason to put your first date on blast

I watched the first few seconds of this earlier before I realized what it was, but I was a little confused on why she said "look at me" like she'd put a bunch of effort in herself. She's literally wearing a sweatsuit.

If you're not okay with a location, communicate that to your potential date.

Your date doesn't know you and can't reasonably be expected to know your past experiences or preferences. If you can't communicate that to them then you're setting a bad ground for the relationship to start off on

The main reason I think it must be fake is... I'm assuming he didn't blind fold her, take her someone place, sit her down and then present the food. "Surprise we're at Shakeshack."

He had to walk her to Shakeshack, she saw the sign on the door, she saw the menu. She was okay with the order. And then when the food arrived she suddenly has an outburst?

Why did she wait until the food was in front of her to complain?

Most woman are not like the woman in that video, but let's not pretend woman like that don't exist. Or that you must be MRA to point out if this video real, that woman is most definitely in the wrong. No one owes you a fancy dinner.

That all being said, I'm leaning on this being fake..... unless this was in Atlanta. Atlanta seems to attract those types.

Going to an actual fast food restaurant on a first date is about the only complaint of this kind that I can see as valid.

I want to reiterate again (just in case) I'm not claiming most woman are like this. So I hope no one takes my post and digs into that.

I'm just making the point that a first date to something cheap and easy is perfectly fine. As some (both men and woman) have these absurd expectations for a first date to "impress."

It is not valid to act like an entitled person on a date expecting someone to take you some expensive or even higher end resteraunt. It's a first date to see if you two want to get to know each other further. Same to thinking someone needs to put in a ton of consideration into the first date to go somewhere thatll impress, dazzle or surprise you. It's a first date.

The point of a first date is to get to know each other.

The video is likely fake, but pretending it is real (because there are people who think this way) the problem isn't her that she doesn't like Shakeshack it's that she very clearly is saying the problem is how much money he spent on the meal, actually asking to see the receipt.

If dating is about getting to know each other, what does it matter if he spent $5, $50 or $500, especially on a first date.

All you are entitled to on a first date is to get to know the other person. If what you care about most is how much money they spent... well there is a word for people like that, something close to silver miner.

Just in general: location doesnt really matter if the two people have chemistry. My first date with my wife was at a play on Londons West End. Two days later we went to Planet Hollywood and Sega World for hours of arcade games. Totally different dates, but both really fun.

It is good policy to communicate with your date about a place where you are both interested in going, but other than that you can have a good date almost anywhere.

I have a problem taking them to specifically to McDonalds because of the setting, it is not romantic, it is not conducive of having a nice meaningful conversation, there are usually lots of kids and teenagers running around. And it is not a special or memorable setting.

However would I take a first date for a cup of coffee and/or ice cream and then go for a walk in the park. ABSOLUTELY! That sounds like an awesome First Date. And that would cost half as much as a McDonald's meal.

Your example isn't the same. Video in OP takes place at the restaurant. If the dude wanted to take her for a walk at park after that is kinda too late. The complaining took place at the resturant. It would be like in your situation your date complains about the coffee/ice cream place you took them too. Sure you had plans after but that isn't going to be included in these type of videos.

My first date with my wife was a Harry Potter movie, a Little Caesars pizza and a bottle of cheap wine. 20 years later she's still not shallow and appreciates our time together. Find someone you mesh with, not someone concerned with the monetary value of a date.

Shake Shack isn't fast food though, it's fast casual. I think Cheesecake Factory is even more reasonable since it's a sit down restaurant.

I wouldnt rank it as an anything. It's a fucking first date. If you are into superficial relationships, you do you. The only ranking I'm doing on the first date is do we click.

Nothing is wrong with it at all beyond the superficial mindset, which I addressed.

I don't care what your expectation parameters are. The first date is to get to know the person. Not jump into it with expectations on how much someone should spend on you, superficial ideas where you go, and absurd expectations that one feels is beneath them.

Nothing wrong with a cup of coffee or a chain/fast food resteraunts beyond to get to know someone. Or really wherever the two of you want to go. My post isnt about just money, its about period.
