Say during Chapter 2 when he first met back up with Mary.

Ran off with her and went straight. Doing hunting, bounty hunting, guarding work.

I can't imagine Bill breaking Micah out of prison or how the plot would have gone down without Arthur since he was centre of everything that happened.

Probably a similar ending of the gang, but maybe even sooner without Arthur being there. Probably more desertions by the rest happening sooner as they grow disillusioned of Dutch quicker. That depends on if Hosea can keep them together or not. Arthur was basically the #3 of the gang and their main enforcer/gun, so they could also possibly be killed or arrested quicker without him.

This doesn't directly relate to that but I had to chuckle when you said "Went straight, doing hunting, bounty hunting, guarding work"

Because I loved the hunting so much and did so much of it I spent all my time focusing on the animal compendium. I took a photo of every animal, studied it, tracked it, killed it, and skinned it. My compendium was 100%. I spent a few hundred hours just hunting. I had like 400 hours into the story mode and was still at Horseshoe Overlook just outside Valentine near the beginning of the game. I had to force myself to advance the story just to unlock fishing so I could knock that out.

I used to role play long hunting trips up north where I would bring a 2nd horse so I could carry an extra large animal carcass back to camp or to the butcher to sell. I would stay out away from the camp so long that they would actually send gang members to check on me and ask if I wanted to return to camp with them to try to prompt me into advancing the game and interacting with them.

Basically I tried to go straight haha.

The real question is how would RDR2 have gone if Arthur just let Micah be hanged. "Sorry Dutch, got there too late. Law man had already hanged him. Nothing I could do."

I feel like, with Dutch, it was only a matter of time until he lost his mind.

if Micah wasn't around to speed things up, then Arthur would have likely died before seeing Dutch go off the deep end, and he might not have been able to help as many of the gang as he did.

I'm playing it now, and for a very long time now i've had an issue that i picked up the pipe Dutch want, but every interaction with him just starts another mission and i can't turn it in.

It's kind of unclear because the entire game implies Micah has been a rat from the start.

But then Milton claims they picked him up after Guarma and then he started rattin'.

Which is weird because RDR2 has so much attention to detail that saying all the hints there were a rat pre chapter 4 were a coincidence and Micah only turned last mintue for some reason seems really ill fitting

I think the takeaway you're supposed to have from that is it would be easy to blame Micah from the start, but he was never the true problem, it was Dutch not managing to keep calm under pressure as the world changed at the heart of it all
